Many ADHDers have experienced the sensory dilemma of getting either too little or too much stimulation.
TOO LITTLE
When an ADHDer has too little stimulation, we may begin to feel...
Restless
Uncomfortable
Lethargic
Uninterested
Hyperactive
We'll have a hard time focusing and likely stim more: Rocking, bouncing a leg, whistling, skin picking, etc.

TOO MUCH
On the opposite end, when an ADHDer experiences too much stimulation, we tend to overload and crash.
When we become overstimulated, we typically become irritable, distant, or snappy. It can be really hard to think and make decisions.

Stimming helps our brains process information and emotionally regulate. So we tend to stim more when we're both under and overstimulated... This can be a helpful indication!
If you're struggling with too much or too little stimulation, consider the following...
MIND YOUR STIMULATION We can easily fall into bad habits for quick dopamine when we're understimulated. Be aware of risky behaviors and addictive quick fixes.
